Sodalite · Copper & Silver Earrings
Sodalite · Copper & Silver Earrings
A pair of handmade earrings, with a design inspired by the Chakana, the 'Inca Cross' which is a hugely symbolic ancient design and a representation of the Inca cosmovision. This pair is made with Copper and 925 Silver with two beautiful rich blue, oval Sodalite stones. The design is first etched onto the Copper sheet, which is then hand-sawn, hammered and filed. Then soldered to attach the Silver bezels to set the two beautiful domed Sodalite stones and finish with the twisted silver detail. Each pair of earrings takes many hours to make from start to finish and we have only one of each design available.
In ancient Peruvian cultures, natural metals were deemed very spiritually important, not only for their visual beauty, but they were thought to hold deeper meanings. Both Copper and Silver were deemed very important, as Copper was said to hold the essence of the earth within it and Silver the essence of the Moon.
Each pair of earrings will arrive in a reusable 100% cotton ITAYA drawstring bag for safe keeping.
