This talisman necklace is made with a beautiful Madagascan Ammonite fossil, from the Middle Cretaceous period, approximately 110 million years old! We’ve woven this with a piece of Red Ayahuasca vine from the Peruvian Amazon. The ammonite is stunning example, showing clearly the structure of the chambers inside. On the reverse outer shell, there are areas of iridescent opalized red sheen when it catches the light! This fossil piece will surely act as a little reminder of how incredible Mother Nature is!

The piece of Ayahuasca above the fossil is known as ‘Red’ Ayahuasca (caapi) vine due to it’s natural deep red-brown colour. The Ayahuasca plant grows within the Amazon rainforest and these pieces come from the vine of the plant, here it is called ‘Flor de Ayahuasca // Flower of the Ayahuasca’ due to it’s flower-like pattern inside. The Ayahuasca is coated in a resin to enhance it’s pattern and natural colours. Ayahuasca is an incredibly sacred plant of the Amazon, used by indigenous peoples in their ceremonies of healing (both physical & spiritual) and connection with Mother Nature. Known as ‘Planta Madre // The Mother Plant’, to wear an actual piece of the plant, is to maintain a connection to it and to Mother Nature always.
