This talisman is made with such an unusual piece of Chrysocolla! It is a blend of strong turquoise, greens and mottled brown flecks (which is Copper) and on the right side has beautiful fan-like formations of fibrous green Malachite. I haven’t seen a Chrysocolla quite like this one before! I also adore how the colour of the Ayahuasca vine picks out the colours of the Copper inside the stone.

From a cultural perspective, Chrysocolla was and still is a very important stone. Used for thousands of years within pre-Inca cultures, especially along the coast of Peru, where it was thought of this as a sacred stone. For them in their cosmovision, Chrysocolla represented the connection between Man and the World.

The piece of Ayahuasca above the stone is known as ‘Red’ Ayahuasca (caapi) vine due to it’s natural deep red-brown colour. The Ayahuasca plant grows within the Amazon rainforest and these pieces come from the vine of the plant, here it is called ‘Flor de Ayahuasca // Flower of the Ayahuasca’ due to it’s flower-like pattern inside. The Ayahuasca is coated in a resin to enhance it’s pattern and natural colours. Ayahuasca is an incredibly sacred plant of the Amazon, used by indigenous peoples in their ceremonies of healing (both physical & spiritual) and connection with Mother Nature. Known as ‘Planta Madre // The Mother Plant’, to wear an actual piece of the plant, is to maintain a connection to it and to Mother Nature always.
