Labradorite Snake Motif · Copper & Silver Earrings
Labradorite Snake Motif · Copper & Silver Earrings
A pair of handmade earrings with a design inspired by a piece of textile from the ancient Ichma culture of central Peru. The woven textile design depicts pairs of interlocking snakes in a geometric style. The Snake design is first etched onto the Copper sheet, which is then hand-sawn, hammered, filed and stamped. Then soldered to attach the Silver bezel to set the two beautiful domed Labradorite stones and finish with the silver details. Each pair of earrings takes many hours to make from start to finish and we have only one of each design available.
In ancient Peruvian cultures, natural metals were deemed very spiritually important, not only for their visual beauty, but they were thought to hold deeper meanings. Both Copper and Silver were deemed very important, as Copper was said to hold the essence of the earth within it and Silver the essence of the Moon. 🌎🌙
