This beautiful fiery orange Mexican Opal still sits within the rock where it was formed by Nature. The white/pale pink stone is Rhyolite and the transparent orange centre is the Opal. I find the combination of transparent ‘cave’ of deep orange with the smooth, creamlike Rhyolite stone to be really striking. Above the Opal is a small Rainbow Moonstone, which when moved around in the light, displays lovely flashes of blue!

This pendant has been handcrafted in 925 Sterling Silver. The silverwork with its flowing forms and spirals is a representation of the air; each spiral, braid and bead has been created by hand in our home studio in Pucallpa, Peru.

In ancient Peruvian cultures, natural metals were deemed very spiritually important, not only for their visual beauty, but they were thought to hold deeper meanings. Silver was a sacred metal and was said to hold the essence of the Moon, the lunar deity ‘Mama Quilla’ meaning Mother Moon with her strong female energy.

The pendant is on a 20 inch oxidised Sterling Silver foxtail chain (one length). The thickness of the chain balances well with the boldness of the pendant. You can choose the option below to have the pendant come with this chain, or to have the pendant on its own if you already have a chain you love.

The necklace will arrive in a reusable 100% cotton ITAYA drawstring bag, inside a gift box – ready to be given as a present to someone special or to yourself!
